Client: Manufacturing startup in emerging tech

Challenge: Board of Directors hired a professional CEO to replace Founder and in doing so the company faced an identity and culture challenge.

Solution: Conducted a global culture survey, facilitated focus group discussions, developed core values with employee input, launched internal and external campaigns to communicate the company’s “why” through storytelling and provided tools to executive and departmental leadership to ensure accountability to core values.

Result: Core values were integrated into all practices which facilitated cultural alignment (reduction of friction, quicker decision making, higher productivity, improved communications) with respect to strategy, leadership and teamwork.

Talent Acquisition + Onboarding

Client: Rapidly growing startup in emerging tech

Challenge: Eliminate extensive offshore workforce (incurring technical and organizational debt), bring talent in-house and triple size of core team while company is shifting strategy and fundraising.

Solution: Hired experienced recruiter, implemented Applicant Tracking System (ATS), developed talent brand to reach highly qualified candidates, optimized recruiting processes to increase speed and improve candidate experience, trained hiring managers and interview teams and built highly rated onboarding program.

Result: Hired and onboarded 125 new team members in less than 9 months and reduced ramp-up time while achieving high candidate experience ratings and being recognized as a Best Place To Work.

 

PEO Exit + Benefits Package Overhaul

Client: High growth SaaS startup

Challenge: Exit expensive and inflexible PEO (Professional Employer Organization) relationship and revamp benefits offering while rapidly expanding employee base and facing intense competition from the Goliath of the industry.

Solution: Conducted needs analysis (current and future state), selected and implemented new HRIS + Payroll system, negotiated new benefits package and facilitated employee education and open enrollment.

Result: Completed PEO exit within 3 months, enhanced benefits package for employees and saved the company $40K in Year 1.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion + Belonging

Client: Established tech startup after sizeable Series C fundraise

Challenge: Employee survey results highlighted issues regarding lack of diversity and inclusion.

Solution: Formed DEI Advisory & Action Council with cross-sectional representation, conducted DEI survey to establish baseline, developed company’s DEI statement, revised all company policies, practices and communications to be more inclusive and equitable, facilitated leadership training on inclusiveness and belonging and formed Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).

Result: Follow up employee survey showed significant improvement with respect to DEI, and turnover in minority populations was reduced by 10%.

Supplemental People Team Resource

Client: Rapidly scaling adtech startup

Challenge: VP of Finance serving as Head of People Operations with no prior People Ops experience while company is growing 3x.

Solution: Coached VP of Finance and trained office manager in day-to-day operations activities, resolved employee relations issues, established hiring processes and created mechanism for regular employee check-ins and feedback loop (eNPS).

Result: Bridged the leadership gap during a crucial growth year and saved the company $150K in salary expenditure at a time when there was no budget for a Head of People Ops.
